FAQ
Let’s get right to it, what is the cost of your services?
Our prices vary depending on the amount of time spent and level of care provided. After a careful assessment, we determine your exact rate. However, we know that cost is important to you in making an informed decision about your long-term care needs, so we don’t believe in hiding our prices.

Average hourly cost: $25/hr.
Average 12-hr. rate: $250
Average 24-hr. rate: $310
Prices may be lower than the rates displayed above.
How do you train your caregivers?
The great majority of our personal care staff are hired with prior professional training, but for those who aren’t, we ensure that they successfully complete the 28-hr. Fundamentals of Caregiving within 90 days of hire. They are then required to take the Nurse Delegation training as well. Employees interested in only providing homemaking services are not required to take nursing assistant classes, but most of them do. Additionally, every new hire completes an ABS orientation program and must have 7 hours of blood borne pathogens training.
So what exactly is Nurse Delegation, and what’s so special about it?
Most home care agencies are limited in the type of personal care services they can provide because our licensing doesn’t allow for skilled nursing. Nurse Delegation is the only exception to this rule. By contracting with Registered Nurses, we are able to have certain care tasks delegated to our staff, that would otherwise be left in the hands of an RN.
Some examples include:
- Medication Administration
- Wound & ostomy care
- Blood glucose monitoring and insulin injections

Are your caregivers insured?
Absolutely! All of our caregivers are covered by our professional liability insurance and are fully bonded.
Can I meet my caregiver in advance?
Whenever possible, and as requested, we will introduce you to your caregiver before any services are setup. All new service is viewed as a trial period, and you have the option of requesting a different caregiver at any time.
Who pays the caregiver? Me or you?
Are caregivers are employed by our agency, not contracted. So this means that all of the payroll, billing & taxes are handled by us. We don’t want you to have to worry about the administration end of things, we just want you to receive your quality services.
Why should I choose an agency rather than a caregiver advertised in the classifieds?
All of our caregivers are carefully screened before they ever enter your home. And by evaluating your needs during our free assessment, we are able to match you with a caregiver that you can feel comfortable with. This isn’t always the case with an independent caregiver you may find in the paper. Often you may not know their background, or whether they have proper training and insurance. And what happens if they can’t make it to a shift? That usually means you do without care until they can come back. With A Better Solution, we have a team of caregivers, so if your provider calls in sick, we can give you someone else!
